Call to Order
Lawren Campbell called to order the Annual General Meeting of the AHNB membership at 12:37 PM on Thursday, 14 November 2024.
Agenda
Gerry Gillcash moved to approve the agenda and Sophie Auffrey seconded. Motion carried.
Approval of the Minutes from the Previous Meeting
Guy Tremblay moved the adoption of the minutes of the 2023 AGM, and David Hughes seconded. Motion carried.
Business arising from the minutes
There was none.
Treasurer’s Report
Greg Fekner shared the review of the statements from the auditors. Nothing raised issues. Investments increased. Our Net Assets were down. Operational expenses increased in last fiscal. Operational revenue increased.
Greg Fekner moved the adoption of the report. Jeanne-Mance Cormier seconded. Motion carried.
Greg Fekner motioned to use the same auditors next year, and Dominique Gélinas seconded. Motion carried.
Annual Report
Lawren mentioned the vast amount of work that the Association does between conferences, both on a provincial and national level. This past year involved significant efforts on a new 5-year Strategic Plan and its signed MOU with the province. He thanked the Board of Directors and all the committees for their hard work and dedication this past year. Lawren encouraged everyone to read the report.
Jeremy Mouat moved the adoption of the report and Joan Pearce seconded. Motion carried.
Nominations and Board Membership
Past President, Gerry Gillcash named three directors who stepped down (Samuel Albert, Alice Fudge, and Joan Pierce) due to other commitments. Gerry announced the board members continuing next fiscal year: Lawren Campbell, Gerry Gillcash, Jeremy Mouat, Tammy Greene, Guy Tremblay, Janet Clouston, Greg Fekner, Evelyn Fidler, Jennifer Dow, and Dominique Gélinas. Gerry said AHNB reached out to the members twice for nominations by email because we need representation from the northern half of the province. Janet Clouston asked if we had to request nominations from the floor. Gerry asked the floor three times, and none were put forward. Gerry moved the reelection of the board as presented. Janet Clouston seconded. Motion carried.
Lawren announced next year’s summit will be in the Chaleur-Bathurst Region. Phillippe Basque will be the chair. Lawren asked what format the members would like: in person, zoom, or both. Tammy Greene moved next year’s summit would be in person. Gerry Gillcash seconded. Motion carried.

Lawren announced Kellie’s retirement. Lawren thanked her. Announced new Executive Director as Erin Jeffries. Gerry asked the floor for comments on what the Board has been doing. Melynda spoke on fundraising via a lottery.

Motion to Approve AHNB’s 5-Year Business Plan 2024 – 2029
AHNB President, Lawren Campbell presented the Association Heritage New Brunswick’s 5-Year Business Plan to the membership following the AGM. After the questions were answered, he moved to accept the AHNB’s 5-Year Business Plan for 2024 – 2029 as presented. Seconded by Dominique Gélinas. Motion carried.
