Travel back in time and discover the rich history of Doaktown and get a glimpse of what life was like when farms ruled the area and businesses were booming. Focusing on the Doak Family, the Doak Historic Site takes you through the original family home which dates back to the early 1800’s. The Doak artifact collection is one of the biggest in the province and its pieces are displayed in many historic museums across the province. The Doak Historic Site features some of the best pieces from the collection which are all original to the site. The site also includes a local school house that dates back to 1822 and the Woolly Croft where you can try your hand at spinning, weaving and other historic fiber arts. Also tour our new interpretation center and visit our gift shop that features local handmade crafts, local cookbooks and products made right here at the Doak Historic Site including jams and jellies and weaving.
