Kings Landing is proud to reopen the Slipp House! After nearly four years of dedicated work to completely renovate the Slipp House, originally built in the 1850s, the residence will reopen on July 6, 2024, in time to welcome back Visiting Cousins and Family Kin this summer!
Over 4,000 children have participated in the Visiting Cousins and Family Kin programs since it began over 45 years ago. Children ages 9 to 15 spend five days and four nights immersed in Kings Landing’s 19th century village. After an early start, children attend the one-room schoolhouse, help with household chores, complete crafts, tend to the farm animals, and learn from the shop owners, all while dressed in costume. After-hours, the children return to the Slipp House for supper, games, songs and theatre before turning in for a well-earned rest. The Visiting Cousins and Family Kin participants make lasting friendships and memories during this truly unique summer camp experience.
