The Société culturelle de Saint-François is dedicated to the promotion of art and culture, as well as the preservation of the heritage and histoiry of Saint-François-de-Madawaska. Founded in 2005.
Travel through time and get to know the history of the people who built this region at the crossroads of New Brunswick, Maine and Quebec.
The Place des Pionniers (Pioneers Place) is a small-scale reproduction of the village of Saint-François, formerly known as Ledges. Visitors love to stroll amongst the miniature reproduction buildings, including the family home, the church, the farm, the post office, the school and the general store, just to name a few! Email: bertommadeai@gmail.com or call (506) 992-6055 for reservations.
From there, set out on a journey to learn about the cultural and social heritage of the region. This drive will take you to the Jos. B. Michaud blacksmith shop, the 150th Anniversary Heritage Room Museum and a dozen of historical sites, all of them instrumental in the history of the Village of Saint-François.
