Step into the history of one of Canada’s oldest military traditions at the Canadian Military Engineers Museum. Located within the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering at CFB Gagetown in Oromocto, New Brunswick, the museum preserves and celebrates the remarkable history of the Canadian Military Engineers and their contributions to Canada from the 18th century to the present day.
Originally opened at CFB Chilliwack on May 11, 1957, the museum relocated to its current home at CFB Gagetown and officially reopened on July 1, 1998. Today, it serves as both a museum and a “living museum,” with artifacts displayed throughout the School of Military Engineering, allowing visitors to experience history throughout the building.
The Canadian Military Engineers Museum is home to an impressive collection of more than 35,000 artifacts representing every facet of military engineering in Canada.
