Geopark. Covering more than 2,500 km² of southern New Brunswick, Stonehammer is Canada’s first UNESCO Global Geopark and offers visitors the opportunity to discover extraordinary geology, breathtaking landscapes, and the rich cultural heritage of the region.
Stonehammer UNESCO Global Geopark is located on the traditional unsurrendered and unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik, Peskotomuhkatik, and Mi’kmaq peoples. The Peace and Friendship Treaties recognize the lands of these Wabanaki peoples and established agreements to ensure peace and ongoing relationships between equal nations. Today, the region is home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

Traveling between Saint John and Digby? Throughout July and August, Stonehammer Geopark Interpreters are aboard the Fundy Rose Ferry, offering free interpretive programming during morning crossings. Learn about the incredible geology, history, and natural wonders of the Bay of Fundy while you travel.
Explore the charming village of St. Martins and visit the Quaco Museum to discover the fascinating natural history that makes this area unique. It is the only location in New Brunswick where two UNESCO designations overlap, making it a must-see destination for history and nature enthusiasts alike.
